WHAT DOES GOING GREEN MEAN?
"Environmentalism" is a broad philosophy and social movement centered on a concern for the conservation and improvement of the environment.
Adopting practices that reduce your overall impact on the environment. These may include reducing your energy usage, recycling, using public transportation, buying local products, and/or designing with green products.
What is organic apparel? Organic apparel is clothing made from organic fibers, such as organic cotton or organic wool. To be considered organic in the U.S. marketplace, fibers that are organically grown or raised must be certified organic in-field by an approved third-party certifying organization accredited by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Certified organic means the item has been grown according to strict uniform standards. Certification includes inspections of farm fields and processing facilities, detailed record keeping and periodic testing of soil and water to ensure that growers and handlers are adhering to standards. For each classic white t-shirt bought a quarter of a pound of toxic chemicals is used. If you think about how much cotton is bought in a year, you start to get an idea of the harm these practices can have on our health.
What is Eco-friendly printing? Printing with water based inks and using environmental friendly chemicals.
